2024 Annual July 4th Parade & Picnic
The parade starts at Euclid Ave at Fillmore lead by this year’s Grand Marshals - film & tv stars and Madison Heights residents Ron Perlman & Allison Dunbar. Join the procession to the parade's end at Glenarm, where the block party begins! Get your lunch from the Pie-N-Burger food truck or bring your own picnic. We'll have games, crafts, ice cream (free for the kids), music, and lots of fun!

Join us at the Allendale School auditorium at 1135 S. Euclid Ave (near corner of Wallis). Special guest speakers: Councilmember Jason Lyon, and PUSD Board Members Dr. Yarma Velazquez & Patrice Marshall McKenzie.

2023 Annual Chili Cookoff
Join neighbors for this fun, casual event that keeps growing every year!
Location: S. Euclid Ave between Alpine and Glenarm. Euclid will be closed to traffic between Alpine and Glenarm for this free neighborhood event.
We expect to have 10-20 chilis competing for a cash prize. If you'd like to enter the chili contest, please contact MHNA Board member Andrew Smith at 615-293-8870 or complete the form using the QR code on distributed flyer. To enter your chili, the fee is $20, which covers the pooled cash prize for the winner. Event is otherwise free to all.
This is a potluck-style event, so non-contestants are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert, or drinks. Plates, cutlery, etc. will be provided. Don't arrive too late if you want to guarantee a taste!
A bouncy house will be there for the kids!

Native Plant Workshop + Native Milkweed Giveaway
MHNA is proud to sponsor this educational event featuring native plant expert Parker Davis, who is also the director of Hardy Californians, a native plant nursery and garden design studio. Come get all your questions answered, and sign up for free native milkweed plants when they become available. Remember, only native milkweed will attract & help save monarch butterflies, while non-natives are problematic.
We’ll be serving Peet’s coffee!

Fourth of July Parade!
Everyone loves a parade—especially when you and your family can join the procession to Allendale Park! The MHNA July 4th Parade & Picnic has become a beloved neighborhood tradition that celebrates hometown heroes and strengthens the relationships between neighbors. Families come from throughout the Pasadena area to join the fun.

Meet the candidates for Mayor and the District 6 council seat! Candidates will answer questions about issues including homelessness, crime, growth and development, reclaiming the 710 stub, affordable housing, public education, and suicide prevention on the Colorado Street Bridge. Doors open at 6pm, and the forum begins promptly at 6:15pm.
LOCATION: Maranatha High School Student Center, 169 S. Saint John Avenue.

Join your neighbors at MHNA’S annual neighborhood mixer and pizza night at Pitfire Artisan Pizza. 15% of your food total will be donated to the Madison Heights Neighborhood Association!
This special evening is a fun, casual opportunity to meet and talk with MHNA board members, block captains, volunteers, and your neighbors. Learn the latest about what’s going on in the area, neighborhood safety, and city issues that affect Madison Heights. All while supporting MHNA, over some tasty food and drink!
Choose from pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads, sides, and sweets. There’s a kids menu for the youngsters and a full bar for the grownups.

The MHNA Annual Membership Meeting was held at the ArtCenter South Campus in Pasadena. In addition to about 50 members, others in attendance included Mayor Terry Tornek, District 7 City Councilmember Andy Wilson, District 7 City Council District Liaison Pam Thyret, and Pasadena Police Lieutenant Mark Goodman. A new board and new officers were elected, the new bylaws were adopted, and presentations were made by Lt. Goodman, ArtCenter's Rollin Homer, MHNA Block Captain Chair Kelley Holmes, Mayor Tornek and Councilmember Wilson.
Thank you to ArtCenter for opening your campus to us, and informing us about the campus's expansion plans.
